Department Information: Prepare to be a skilled, effective, and ethical manager of public programs. UMass Boston's MPA program imparts the skills and insight you need to effectively lead and manage public programs. We teach the essentials in budgeting and finance, economics, ethics, organizational behavior, politics, and statistics. Graduates go on to become leaders in government, public agencies, and nonprofit organizations. U.S. News & World Report ranks our MPA program as #70 in the nation. We maintain strict NASPAA accreditation, and we also offer a specialized Gender, Leadership, & Public Policy Track of the MPA program. MPA Student Outcome Data - Employment and Completion Rate The MPA program is offered in full hybrid modality. All courses are offered live on particular days and times by our instructors & students may participate in classes in-person or remotely (via Zoom) as they see fit. Whether you are an Accelerated Master's Program (AMP) student or a working professional with prior experience - applicants from different backgrounds are welcome to apply to our program. Current students can take a standard full-time load of 6 to 9 credits a semester and/or pursue our program on a part-time basis (less than 6 credits).
