• HWC 311 – Social Welfare Policy, Services & Analysis:

Presents the history and basic concepts underlying the development of social welfare in the U.S., emphasizing the interrelationships of social values, political factors, and economic conditions.

• HWC 312 – Social Welfare Policy and Institutional Oppression

Expands understanding of the complex interrelationships resulting in social injustice, inequality, and oppression, viewing policies and programs through the lens of sources of oppression

• HWC 556 – Proposal Writing in the Health and Human Service Fields

Provides a comprehensive study of principles and methods used to prepare various types of proposals, including program, training, research, and demonstration. Includes workshops on developing writing skills and locating funding sources.

• HWC 571 – Advanced Tools for Social Change: Practice II:

Develops skills in analyzing issues, crafting persuasive arguments, and communicating effectively with diverse audiences.
