자연재해와 분쟁으로 인한 인도적 위기라는 배경 하 에서 국제사회의 인도적 지원에 대해 연구한다. 인도적 지원에 관한 기본개념, 역사, 행위자, 규범을 검토 한 후 기아, 난민, 젠더, 미디어 등 인도적지원과 관련된 다양한 주제들을 탐구한다. 또한 인도적 지원이 야기하는 윤리적 문제들과 미디어의 보도를 비판적으로 검토하고 향후 한국이 국제 인도적 지원분야에서 기여 할 수 있는 분야를 모색한다.

(It studies humanitarian aid from the international community in the background of a humanitarian crisis caused by natural disasters and disputes. After reviewing the basic concepts, history, actors, and norms of humanitarian aid, various topics related to humanitarian aid, such as hunger, refugees, gender, and media, are explored. 본수업에서 수강생들은 자신의삶, NGO현장에서 발굴한 문제를 사회적으로 진단하고 해결하는 방법을 발전시킨다. 진보와 보수, 연구와 실천, 공공과 개인 등 이분법적 사고를 넘어 비판적, 성찰적, 종합적인 인식을 바탕으로 다양한 차원에서 문제를 진단하고 해결 할 수있는 기본기를 다진다.

(In this class, students develop ways to socially diagnose and solve their lives and problems discovered in NGO sites. 근대시민사회와 동아시아(Modern Civil Society and East Asia)

서구 민주주의 등장은 시민사회 형성에서 비롯된다. 또한 시민사회 형성은 자본주의 발달과 궤를 같이 한다. 즉 농업사회에서 상업사회로의 전환에서 비롯된 것이다. 서구는 이런 사회적 전환이 수 세기에 걸쳐 네덜란드, 영국, 프랑스, 미국 등에서 차례로 진행되었다. 반면 동아시아에서는 상업사회로의 전환이 더뎌 시민사회의 형성도 늦어지게 되었다. 이 과목은 역사 속에서 각 국가들의 경우를 비교분석하여 한국 시민사회 발전을 위한 통찰을 얻고자 한다.

(The emergence of Western democracy stems from the formation of civil society. In addition, the formation of civil society is in line with the development of capitalism. In other words, it stems from the transition from an agricultural society to a commercial society. In the West, this social transformation took place one after another in the Netherlands, Britain, France, and the United States over the centuries. On the other hand, in East Asia, the transition to a commercial society was slow, delaying the formation of a civil society. This subject aims to obtain insights for the development of Korean civil society by comparing and analyzing the cases of each country in history.)

오늘날 동아시아는 전지구적으로 가장 큰 변화가 진행 중인 지역이다. 우리 자신의 입장에서 책임있게 이 지역에서 제기되는 문제들에 대면해야 할 수 있어야 한다. 이 강좌는 가장 가까운 주변인 동아시아에서 어떠한 일들이 진행되고 있는지, 이 지역의 여러 국가, 세력들과, 우리는 어떠한 관계를 맺어나가야 하는지, 이 지역의 미래는 어떠한 방향으로, 어떠한 모습으로 형성되어 갈 것인지를 분석하고 고찰한다.

(Today, East Asia is the region where the biggest changes are underway globally. We must be able to confront the problems that are raised in this area responsibly from our own point of view. This course analyzes and examines what is going on in East Asia, the nearest neighborhood, how we should establish relationships with various countries and forces in the region, and how the future of the region will be shaped.)

현대사회의 중요한 제도요, 행위요소인 기업의 본질과 역할에 대해 알아보고, 이들과 시민사회와의 관계를 다양한 측면에서 살펴봄으로써 바람직한 시민사회와 기업의 관계를 정립하고, 나아가 파트너십 구축방안을 논의한다. 이를 위해 기업시민정신을 바탕으로 기업의 사회적 책임과 사회공헌활동의 국내외 현황을 파악하고 국제적인 추세까지 고려함으로써 양자간의 보다 실질적인 협력관계를 모색해 본다.

(It examines the nature and role of companies, which are important institutions and action factors in modern society, and examines the relationship between them and civil society from various aspects to establish desirable civil society and corporate relationships and further discuss ways to establish partnerships. 비영리단체들이 전면에 내세우고 있는 비전과 사명을 효과적으로 달성하기 위한 여러 조건이 존재하지만, 조직의 존속과 사업을 전개하기 위한 재원마련은 실질적으로 가장 중요한 과제가 된다. 비영리단체들이 활용할 수 있는 자원의 종류와 그 획득 가능성을 살펴보고, 특히 현장에서 가장 일반적으로 이뤄지는 모금의 방법과 실제를 다양한 측면에서 다룸으로써 모금의 이해를 넘어, 기획, 실행할 수 있는 능력을 배양한다.

(Although there are various conditions for effectively achieving the vision and mission that non-profit organizations are putting forward, financing the survival of the organization and development of business is practically the most important task. It examines the types of resources that non-profit organizations can utilize and their availability, and cultivates the ability to plan and implement beyond fundraising understanding, especially by dealing with the most common methods and practices in the field.)

(Modern science is opening up a magnificent state where humans, life, nature, and the universe are connected in one strand. The public nature of human life and human society is reinterpreted on this large background. Recently, social philosophy reinterprets social phenomena on such a broad cosmological and human history background, thereby re-examining the activity and creativity of human practice. 과연 과학 기술의 힘은 인간의 한계, 자연의 한계를 돌파했는가? 아니면 ‘엔트로피’의 누적으로 필연적인 한계에 봉착할 것인가. 사회혁신 없는 기술혁신은 재앙이라는 경고가 제기되고 있다. 어떤 사회혁신이 필요한가. 이 강좌는 진행 중인 대변동의 복합적인 신호들을 미래사회의 도전에 대응하는 방안들을 모색한다.

(The future is no longer a familiar repetition of the past. What is the Fourth Industrial Revolution?
Did the power of science and technology break through the limitations of humans and nature? Or will the accumulation of "entropy" face inevitable limits? A warning has been raised that technological innovation without social innovation is a disaster. What kind of social innovation is needed. 이 과목은 민주주의를 역사적∙이론적으로 고찰해 오늘날 민주주의의 바탕과 그 실천적 과제를 이해하는 데 도움을 주고자 한다. 민주주의는 그 역사가 고대 그리스 시대에까지 거슬러 올라가기 때문에, 먼저 소크라테스 이전의 그리스적 관점에서 민주주의의 본래 정신을 알아보고, 그것이 근대에 어떻게 제도적으로 계승되고 발전되었는지 살펴보며, 마지막으로 오늘날 탈근대 사회에서 논의되고 있는 민주주의에 대한 새로운 해석 및 가능성을 탐구한다.

(This subject aims to help understand the basis of democracy today and its practical tasks by examining democracy historically and theoretically. Since democracy dates back to ancient Greek times, it first examines the original spirit of democracy from a pre-Socrates Greek perspective, how it was systematically inherited and developed in modern times, and finally explores new interpretations and possibilities of democracy being discussed in postmodern society.)

본 강의는 현대 정치공동체에서 ‘시민사회’와 ‘법’이 맺는 다양한 상호 작용에 대하여 이해하는데 목적이 있다. 새로운 정치 의제의 등장으로 현대 민주주의 사회에서 시민사회의 위상과 성격은 변화하고 있다. 특히 시민사회 영역에서 법의 역할이 가지는 중요성이 점증하고 있다. 통치 제도로서의 법기구들은 시민사회에서 제기되는 정치적인 문제들을 어떻게 다루고 있는가? 법적 규범은 시민사회가 새롭게 제기하는 권리의 문제와 어떻게 조우하는가? 민족국가의 경계를 넘어 진행되는 초국적 정치 이슈들을 시민사회가 제기할 때 법은 어떻게 반응하는가? 이 강의는 이러한 물음을 바탕으로 ‘법과 시민사회’에 관한 논의들을 살펴본다.

(The purpose of this lecture is to understand the various interactions between 'civil society' and 'law' in the modern political community. With the advent of new political agendas, the status and character of civil society in modern democratic society are changing. (Five Nordic countries, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland, and Finland, have developed unique social models based on universal welfare states, democratic corporatism, and consensus policy-making systems. In general, the Nordic model is highly regarded as maintaining a high level of social trust and civic participation while achieving basic freedom, equality, economic efficiency and social solidarity at the same time. However, the Nordic model is not a static concept, and Nordic society has continued to evolve in response to changes in social structure and international relations since the late 20th century. In addition, comparative political scientists and welfare state researchers have recently noticed various differences between the five Nordic countries.This lecture examines the historical formation and development of Nordic models, major institutional characteristics and policy issues, and case studies by country on the status of democracy and citizenship. 특히 기존시민운동단체와 시민사회운동의 조직화와 동원과정에서 네트워크는 이제 중요한 참여의 도구가 된 지 오래다. 그런 맥락에서 서키(Shirky)교수는 참여의 아키텍처인 네트워크의 중요성을 강조한 바 있다. 본 강의는 이러한 시대 상을 반영하여 전통적인 정치행위자인 시민사회가 인터넷의 등장 이후 어떤 변화를 겪고 있는지에 주목하고 다양한 제현상을 분석하고자 한다. 세부적으로 첫째, 인터넷이 가지는 시민운동에서의 의미를 살펴본다. 둘째 최근 부각되고 있는 웹2.0과 SNS등 뉴미디어와 시민사회의 변화를 각 영역 별로 분석한다. 마지막으로, 향후SNS와 스마트폰의 확산으로 인한 시민운동양식의 변화상을 그려보고 그 파장에 대해 예측한다.

국제조직의 주요 목적은 국제평화와 안전보장의 유지에 있다. 이 목적을 성취하기 위하여 국제 연맹이 있었고 현재의 국제연합이 있다. 뿐만 아니라 세계 정부의 헌장이 그 실현을 보지는 못하였으나 세계의 평화와 안전을 보장하기 위한 하나의 시도였다는 점에서 중요한 구상이라 아니할 수 없다. 이들을 상호 비교 분석하여 현 국제사회에 보다 현실적으로 맞는 보완책을 모색하고자 하는 데에 이 강의의 목적이 있다.

(The main purpose of an international organization is to maintain international peace and security. To achieve this goal there was an League of Nations and there is a current United Nations. In addition, although the charter of the world government did not see its realization, it is an important idea in that it was an attempt to ensure world peace and security. The purpose of this lecture is to find supplementary measures that are more realistic for the current international community by comparing and analyzing them.)

자신의 삶의 가치에 기반하여 사회적기업가로서의 비전과 목표를 수립하고 사회적기업가가 직면하는 다양한 철학적 이슈를 직접 기관연수를 통해서 체험하고 현실적인 목표를 설정한다. 정기적인 워크샵 형태의 집단 코칭 과정을 통해서 경희대학교 테크노경영대학원과 협약된 기관으로 MBA 1-2년차에 국내사회적기업, 기관으로 진행한다.
