시민사회와 생활정치(Civil Society and Life Politics)

한국사회의 시민사회의 발전과 여성, 환경, 성 정체성 등 생활정치에 관해 탐구한다. 이러한 연구를 위해 정치사회학의 고전인 배링턴 무어의 저작과 아울러 시민사회 담론에 대하여 학습한다. 이러한 시각을 바탕으로 한국사회의 권위주의로부터의 전환을 이룬 제도적 문화적 요인을 검토한다. 민주주의가 정치적 영역에서 생활정치 영역으로 확장되면서 새롭게 쟁점화 되는 분야에 관하여 연구한다.

This course explores the development of civil society in Korean society and life politics such as women, environment, and gender identity. For this study, the work of Barrington Moore, a classic of political sociology, and civil society discourse are studied. Based on this perspective, the institutional and cultural factors that made the transition from authoritarianism in Korean society are reviewed. As democracy expands from the political realm to the life-political realm, it studies the areas that become new issues.

지역사회운동과 NGO (Local Social Movement and NGOs)

지역사회운동과 NGO는 NGO들의 활동을 중심으로 세상을 바라보는 기회를 가지는 동시에 지역과 관련된 NGO활동들을 조명해본다. 특별히 이번 수업의 키워드는 '머리와 가슴은 따로가 아니다'이다. 따라서 수업은 학생들의 NGO 활동에 대한 활발한 참여를 조건으로 한다. 수업에서 강의는 기초이지만, 반드시 강의실 내에서만 이뤄지지는 않는다. 학생들은 언론 보도나 NGO의 기관지 및 홈페이지를 다양하게 활용하고, 직접 NGO의 활동에 참여하면서 현장과 관계를 맺는다. 따라서 수업은 강의실의 경계를 넘나들며, 배정된 수업 시간의 경계를 넘나든다. 이를 통해 사회운동의 현장에 참여할 수 있는 기회를 갖으면서 NGO를 이해할 수 있도록 한다. 또한 방법론적으로 매주 수업은 가급적 모든 구성원들이 참여할 수 있도록 발표와 토론의 방식을 취한다.

Local community movements and NGOs have an opportunity to look at the world centered on the activities of NGOs, and at the same time shed light on NGO activities related to the region. In particular, the keyword for this class is 'head and heart are not separate'. Therefore, classes are conditional on students' active participation in NGO activities. Lectures in the classroom are fundamental, but they do not necessarily take place in the classroom. Students use various media reports and NGO's brochures and homepages, and directly participate in NGO's activities to establish a relationship with the field. Thus, the class crosses the boundaries of the classroom and crosses the boundaries of the assigned class time. Through this, they have the opportunity to participate in the field of social movements and understand NGOs. Also, methodologically, weekly classes take the form of presentations and discussions so that all members can participate as much as possible.
