子どもNPO

Credit Bearing: 2
Level: Undergraduate

In today's Japanese society, there are many organizations called NPOs (Nonprofit Organizations) and NGOs (Non-governmental Organizations). Unlike the principles of government and business, NPOs and NGOs are said to be organizations that aim to "realize an inclusive society" through the "pursuit of a social mission. These private non-profit and non-governmental organizations are expected to play an active role in the fields of child and family welfare, childcare, and education. They are expected to play a role different from that of governments and corporations, such as "creating a place for children in the community" and "enacting children's rights ordinances through children's participation.

現代の日本社会には、NPO(Nonprofit Organization 民間非営利組織)やNGO(Non-govemmental Organization 民間非政府組織)と呼ばれる組織が多数存在しています。

Environmental NPOs and NGOs

環境NPO・NGO

Credit Bearing: 2
Level: Undergraduate

The solution of environmental problems cannot be considered without the activities of environmental NPOs/NGOs. Environmental NPOs and NGOs have played a major role at various levels and in various fields, including the international community, national governments, and local communities. With the recent rethinking of "government" and "public" policies in general, and the emphasis on collaboration among various actors, it is expected that their role will become even greater in the future.
In this lecture, we will review the various roles of environmental NPOs and NGOs, their achievements and current status, organized by issue and field, and deepen our discussion on how citizens should approach environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the creation of a recycling-oriented society.
In addition, students will learn the basics of their ability to tackle environmental issues through work on problem-solving in class, including NPO activities.
