To acquire the basic knowledge and techniques to understand NPO (non profit organization), widely understood as a private non-profit organization, theoretically and systematically, and to conceptualize it proactively and practically. The objectives of the course are as follows The lecture will focus on (1) the definition, organizational characteristics, and social roles of NPOs, (2) the social background that has drawn attention to and necessitated the need for NPOs, and (3) the differences between NPOs and other non-profit organizations such as community-based organizations and cooperatives. The seminar will also discuss the differences between NPOs and other non-profit organizations, such as local residents' organizations and cooperatives, and the significance and reality of collaboration with government. The participants will also be invited to share their thoughts on NPO activities and the reality of their activities. Based on such "learning," we would like to conduct a workshop (group work) in the last part of the session, in which we will assume that we are actually establishing an NPO, and to lead to a presentation (group presentation) of the results of the workshop.
