NPOs and Civic Activities

NPOと市民活動

In addition to volunteer activities, civic activities encompass public interest activities that are either managed by citizens or undertaken by NPOs in which citizens participate broadly. The fields include welfare, education, international cooperation and exchange, environment, community development, culture and art, and many others. In this class, students will learn about the concept, methods of practice, and social functions of volunteer, NPO, and civic activities, and will gain a basic understanding of these activities in order to be able to act proactively toward solving problems.

市民活動は、ボランティア活動に加えて、市民主体で運営されるか、市民が広く参画するNPOによって取り組まれる公益活動も包含する。その分野は、福祉、教育、国際協力・国際交流、環境、まちづくり、文化・芸術など多岐にわたっている。本授業では、ボランティアやNPO、市民活動についての考え方や実践方法、社会的機能を学ぶとともに、課題解決に向け主体的に行動できるようになるために、基本的な理解を図る。
