Students will gain a thematic understanding of the efforts of NPOs/NGOs in both developed and developing countries that occupy an important place in society in terms of international cooperation and development issues.

履修学生が、国際協力および開発問題の解決において社会で重要な位置を占める先進国、開発途上国両方のNPO/NGOについての取組みをテーマごとに理解する。

The lecture will focus on the formation of communities and the "local residents' organizations" that are the bearers of those communities. The first half of the lecture will focus on the history of postwar Japanese society and community policies, while the second half will examine the background of the rise of NPOs in Japan and the momentum for the revival of communities. Finally, the lecture will present the ideal form of community-based citizen organizations for regional cooperation by introducing case studies from field research.

コミュニティの形成とその担い手となる「地域住民組織」を中心に講義します。前半は戦後の日本社会の歩みとコミュニティ政策を、後半は、国内でのNPOが台頭する背景やコミュニティ再興への機運に関して検討をします。最後に、フィールド調査した事例を紹介しながら、地域協働に向けた地域住民組織のあり方を提示します。
