NPOマネジメント

Private non-profit organizations (NPOs) play a major role in various fields such as environmental protection, social welfare, community development, and youth education. As the limitations and problems of government and business become more apparent, the importance of NPOs continues to grow.
In this class, students will (1) assist NPO offices as interns, (2) learn the actual operation of NPOs on a hands-on, voluntary basis, and (3) acquire some skills and know-how in administrative work and planning.

環境保護・社会福祉・地域開発・青少年教育など、各分野で大きな役割を果たす、NPO（民間非営利団体）。政府・企業の諸限界・問題が顕在化する中、重要性は増す一方である。
この授業では学生が、１）インターンとしてNPO事務所を手伝いながら、（２）運営の実態を体験的・自主的に学び、（３）事務作業や企画の技能・ノウハウを少しでも身につけることを狙う。

Introduction to NPOs

NPO概論

Non-profit organizations (NPOs) have high social expectations as bearers of a participatory and collaborative society. In this course, we will first examine the emergence of a participatory and collaborative society and its characteristics. Next, through international comparisons, we will study the history of the development of NPOs, definitions, scale and scope of activities, social significance, roles, institutional framework, and management. The formation of social network capital as a foundation for promoting NPO activities will also be discussed. Finally, the future of NPOs in Japan will be discussed in comparison with cases in the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries.

NPO（非営利組織）は、参加・協働型社会の担い手として、社会的に大きな期待を寄せられている。そこで本講座では、まず、参加・協働型社会の出現と、その特徴について考察する。次に、国際比較を通じて、NPOの発展の歴史、定義、活動の規模・範囲、社会的意義、役割、制度的枠組み、マネジメントなどについて学習を進める。また、NPOの活動を推進する基盤としての社会ネットワーク資本の形成についても論じる。最後に、アメリカ、イギリスなどの諸外国の事例と比較しながら、我が国のNPOの将来について考察する。
