International Cooperation and NPOs

国際協力とNPO

This course will deepen understanding of the importance, problems and limitations of international cooperation by NPOs, NGOs (non-governmental organizations), individuals, and corporations, which have made remarkable progress in recent years in terms of both number and scope/quality of activities, and will also examine how individuals can be involved in international society. The course will also examine how individuals can get involved in the international community. The course also aims to contribute to practical activities of international cooperation projects by identifying success factors of international cooperation by NPOs and NGOs through various case studies.

数のうえでも活動の範囲・質のうえでも近年めざましい発展をとげているNPO・NGO（非政府組織）や個人による国際協力、企業による国際協力について、その重要性と問題点や限界について理解を深めるとともに、個人として国際社会にどのような関わりを持つことができるかも考察する。様々なケーススタディーからNPO・NGOによる国際協力の成功要因を抽出するなどを通じて、国際協力事業の実践活動にも資することを目指す。
