NGO・NPO論

The course will deepen the study of NPOs (non-profit organizations) and NGOs (non-governmental organizations), which play an important role in society today, from various perspectives, including concepts and practices such as volunteerism and pro bono, the legal system and theory of NPOs, and case studies of pioneering initiatives. In recent years, social entrepreneurship, an approach that aims to solve social issues through economic activities, has been attracting attention in relation to NPOs. In the latter half of the class, we will discuss the future prospects for NPOs that contribute to the building of a civil society, taking into account topics related to social entrepreneurship. The class will be conducted not only in a lecture format, but will also incorporate group work, discussions, and presentations as much as possible.

今日、社会的に重要な役割を果たしているNPO（非営利組織）およびNGO（非政府組織）について、ボランティア・プロボノ等の概念や実践、NPOの法制度や理論、先駆的な取り組みに関するケーススタディ等、様々な観点から学びを深めていく。また近年、NPOとの関連で注目されているのが、経済活動を通じて社会的課題の解決を目指す「社会的起業」というアプローチである。授業の後半では、社会的起業に関連したトピックスを踏まえながら、市民社会の構築に寄与するNPOにおける今後の展望についても考察する。なお、授業は講義形式だけではなく、できる限りグループワークやディスカッション、プレゼンテーション等を取り入れながら進めて行く予定である。
