Modern Business in English (NPO's Business)

英語で学ぶ現代ビジネス（NPOの事業）

Students will learn about brief policy trends and specific cases in the UK and the US regarding NPO projects related to livelihoods and social enterprises. Excerpts from overseas materials and articles will be provided as appropriate. Students will deepen their understanding by comparing them with specific examples in Japan. Voluntary translators and content explainers will be assigned. Depending on the number of students, the method of instruction may be changed (e.g., by dividing students into groups).

生活に関わるNPOの事業や、社会的企業の事業について、英米の簡単な政策動向や具体的事例を学ぶ。海外の資料や論文を適宜抜粋する。日本の具体例と照合させながら、理解を深める。 自発的な翻訳者と内容説明者を設定する。受講者数の多寡によっては、進め方の変更がありうる（グループ分けなど）。

寄附講座(近畿労働金庫-非営利･協同ｾｸﾀｰが担う支えあいの経済-)

The Lehman Shock in the fall of 2008 and the European economic unrest in 2011 have created a heated money-driven economy in many parts of the world, but at the same time, they have also caused the collapse of communities. Furthermore, this economy has caused numerous social issues such as job insecurity, poverty, inequality, and child abuse. In contrast, cooperatives, which were established in the spirit of mutual support, can be said to be responsible for the mutual support economy. This endowed lectureship is part of the "Challenge to 2020" initiative proposed by the International Co-operative Alliance (ICA), in succession to the International Year of Cooperatives 2012. In addition to learning the basics of the non-profit and cooperative sectors, this endowed course will focus on lectures by practitioners of cooperative organizations on their specific activities. By introducing a variety of actual examples, we aim to provide students with an understanding of cooperative organizations' businesses and their wide-ranging efforts involving welfare, the environment, labor, etc., and to give them a sense of what a mutual support economy is all about. 2008年秋のリーマン・ショックや2011年の欧州経済不安など、これまでのマネー主導型の経済は各地に加熱経済を生みつつ、一方でコミュニティの崩壊を生み出しています。さらに、その経済によって、雇用不安や貧困、格差問題、児童虐待など数多くの社会課題が引き起こされています。それに対して、相互扶助の精神で設立された協同組合組織は、支えあいの経済を担っているともいえます。2012国際協同組合年を継承し、国際協同組合同盟（ＩＣＡ）が提唱する“2020年への挑戦”の取り組みの一環として、本寄附講座を実施します。 本寄附講座では、非営利・協同セクターの基礎を学ぶことに加えて、協同組合組織の実践者による具体的な活動の講義を中心とします。様々な実例を紹介することで、協同組合組織の事業への理解と、福祉・環境・労働などにも関わる幅広い取り組みを知ってもらい、支えあいの経済とはどういうものかについて、学生に実感してもらうことをめざします。 企画協力：労働者福祉中央協議会(中央労福協)、日本生活協同組合連合会（日本生協連）、日本医療福祉生活協同組合連合会(医療福祉生協連)、全国大学生活協同組合連合会（全国大学生協連）

非営利事業論

Japan's industrial society has reached a major turning point from the stage of striving for economic growth. Against the backdrop of an aging population, worsening global environmental problems, and the development of the global economy, new forms of industrial economy and regional society are being sought in various ways. Under these circumstances, new business entities such as non-profit organizations (NPOs) and social enterprises are attracting attention as bearers of local industrial economies and welfare. The purpose of this lecture is to understand the background of the growing attention to NPOs and social enterprises and the current trends in these new business entities from both theoretical and practical perspectives, while focusing on the differences between conventional corporations and government and administrative agencies. The course will focus on specific social issues, primarily those related to welfare and employment, to understand the background of today's issues related to welfare and employment, and to examine the roles NPOs and social enterprises play in these fields.

日本の産業社会は経済成長に邁進してきた段階から大きな転換期を迎えている。高齢化の進行や地球環境問題の深刻化、グローバル経済の展開などを背景として、新しい産業経済や地域社会のあり方が様々なかたちで模索されている。そのようななかで、地域の産業経済や福祉の担い手として注目を集めているのが、NPO（非営利組織）や社会的企業といった新たな事業主体である。本講義の目的は、従来型の企業と政府・行政機関との相違点に着目しながら、NPOや社会的企業に注目が集まる背景およびこのような新たな事業主体に関する今日の動向を理論と現実の双方から理解することである。具体的な社会的課題として、おもに福祉や就労に関わる問題をとりあげ、福祉や就労に関わる今日的な課題の背景を理解するとともに、NPOや社会的企業の果たす役割について検討する。

非営利組織論

Since the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, nonprofit organizations have been attracting attention and have been expanding in various ways in today's society, including the formation of networks centering on some organizations that mediate information (intermediary organizations such as support centers). The discussion of social capital, a concept that encompasses social networks and trust, has also come to be understood in relation to the discussion of nonprofit organizations. Therefore, nonprofit organizations have become an indispensable subject for considering the relationship between humans and information in society. In this lecture, we will study related topics such as types, theories, institutions, and recent developments of nonprofit organizations with actual data.

阪神淡路大震災以降，注目を集めてきた非営利組織は，情報を媒介する一部の組織（支援センターなどの中間組織）を中心にネットワークを形成するなど，今日の社会において多様な広がりを見せている。1990年代以降注目されてきたソーシャルキャピタル―社会的なネットワークや信頼などを包含する概念―の議論も，非営利組織の議論と関連付けて理解されるようになってきた。そのため，非営利組織は，社会における人間と情報の関わりを考える上で欠かせない題材となっている。本講義では，非営利組織の種類，理論，制度，近年の展開など，関連するトピックについて，実際のデータを交えつつ学習していく。

In this lecture, we will explain about NGOs (non-governmental organizations) and NPOs (non-profit organizations), their theories, institutions, and policies, as well as their functions and roles in contemporary society, using many concrete examples. Specifically, the lecture will cover the following questions: "What are NGOs and NPOs, what are their characteristics and types?"; "What are the differences and interrelationships between NGOs and NPOs and national and local governments and private companies?"; "How are theories and institutions related to NGOs and NPOs developing?"; "How are NGO and NPO management and governance conducted? What are the types and objectives of NGO/NPO policies by the government sector and the private sector?

本講義では、NGO（非政府組織）・NPO（非営利組織）に関して、その理論、制度、政策や現代社会における機能や役割について、具体的な事例を多数まじえながら解説する。 具体的には、「NGO・NPOとは何か、どのような特性や種類があるのか」、「NGO・NPOと国・自治体や民間企業との異同や相互関係は」、「NGO・NPOに関する理論や制度の進展状況は」、「NGO・NPOのマネジメントやガバナンスはどのように行われているのか」、「政府セクターや民間セクターによるNGO・NPO政策の種類や目的は」、「NGO・NPOは現代社会において公共サービスの提供にどのような役割や機能を果たしているのか」といった点について検討する。
