Non-governmental organizations (NGOs), their characteristics, types, purposes, and establishment process will be discussed using several organizations as examples. Then, through comparisons with NGOs in other countries that are remarkably active in the field of international cooperation, the current status, possibilities, and challenges of NGOs will be discussed.

非政府組織（Non-governmental Organizations， NGOs)について、その特徴、種類、目的、設立過程などをいくつかの団体を例に明らかにしていく。そして、国際協力分野で活躍がめざましい諸外国のNGOとの比較を通して、NGOの現状、可能性、課題等について検討する。
