Nonprofit Organizations a

Credit Bearing: 2
Level: Undergraduate

In this class, you will learn what a nonprofit organization is. Nonprofit organizations are a group of organizations that form a third sector, different from the government (sector 1) and for-profit companies (sector 2), and are defined by their differences from other sectors and their unique functions. In today's Japanese society, non-profit organizations are expanding their activities in many fields, such as community, urban development, medical care and welfare, and international cooperation, by taking advantage of their characteristics as entities that can engage in activities that are made possible by not pursuing profit and activities that cannot be carried out by the government, which requires neutrality. In addition, nonprofit organizations have been expanding their activities in many fields, such as community, community development, medical care, welfare, and international cooperation. In addition, nonprofit organizations have been increasing their influence on society by collaborating with businesses and governments. At the same time, nonprofit organizations are required more than ever to enhance their management mindset and to operate efficiently and continuously. In this class, students will learn about the significance and roles of nonprofit organizations, as well as the responsibilities and management required of them, based on this background. In the first semester, Nonprofit Organization Theory a, we will focus on clarifying what a nonprofit organization is and outline its existence with case studies.
