Basic Exercise in Management of Nonprofit Organizations

非営利組織経営基礎演習

Various projects are implemented as a means of solving regional and organizational issues. Community collaborative leaders are first required to have the ability to plan these projects. Moreover, they are required to plan projects through regional collaboration among various stakeholders. In this class, based on the understanding of the essence of planning and proposal writing, students will learn (1) methods and techniques for conceiving a plan, and (2) methods and techniques for compiling the concept into a proposal. The students will also learn (3) various types of research (collection and analysis of relevant information, etc.) that are indispensable when conceiving a plan. A plan should not be "just an idea. Only a plan that is backed by objective evidence can solve a problem. Therefore, the conception of a plan must be accompanied by research work such as information gathering and analysis. Therefore, the learning in (3) is more important in this class. Furthermore, through group work, students will develop the ability to proactively take charge of and practice "collaborative learning," which is a pillar of (4) planning for local collaborative projects.

地域や組織の課題を解決する手段としてさまざまな事業が実施される。地域協働リーダーには，まず，これらの事業を企画する能力が求められる。しかも，多様な関係者の地域協働による事業を企画することが求められる。本授業では，企画及び企画書の本質に対する理解を基に，（1）企画を構想するための方法及び技法，（2）構想を企画書にまとめる方法及び技法を学ぶ。また、（3）企画を構想する際に不可欠となる諸リサーチ（関係する情報の収集及び分析等等々）についても学ぶ。企画は「思いつき」であってはならない。客観的な根拠に裏打ちされた企画のみが課題解決を実現する。それゆえ、企画の構想には必ず情報の収集や分析といったリサーチの作業が伴う。従って、（3）の学びは本授業においてもっと重要な学びである。さらに，グループワークを通じて，（4）地域協働企画立案の柱である「協働的学び」を主体的に担い実践する能力を鍛える。

Introduction to Nonprofit Corporation Management

非営利法人経営論入門

 

In recent years, the social role of nonprofit corporations has been reevaluated, and the significance of their existence and management has come to be emphasized. In this lecture, the functions of nonprofit corporations will be reviewed, and an overview of the system and management environment of each nonprofit corporation will be presented. In addition, various issues related to the management of nonprofit corporations will be discussed. The lecture will be based on the textbook and resumes to be distributed. The following two points will be made to deepen students' understanding in this class. First, students' questions will be accepted and answered in the next class. Second, the outline of the previous class will be explained and reviewed.

近年、非営利法人の社会的役割が見直され、その存在意義や経営が重視されるようになった。本講義では、非営利法人の機能を整理したうえで、各非営利法人の制度や経営環境についての概要説明を行う。さらに、非営利法人の経営に関する諸問題についても論じる。 授業方法は、教科書や配布するレジュメに基づいた講義を行う。なお、当該授業では、次の二点により、受講生の理解を深める。第一に、学生の疑問を受け付け、次の授業で疑問に対する回答を行う。第二に、前回の授業の概略を説明し復習する

Introduction to NPOs

NPO入門

 

Today's world is said to be carried by three sectors: the market sector, the government (administrative) sector, and the non-profit sector. In particular, the non-profit sector is expected to complement or overcome the limitations of the market and government sectors in the 21st century to ensure that society is well managed. The first goal of this class is to understand the difference between non-profit organizations and corporations (for-profit organizations), the difference between non-profit activities and for-profit activities, and the difference between government and non-profit organizations, in other words, to understand the functions and roles of each of the three sectors. The second objective is to understand the historical and social background of why the nonprofit sector, led by nonprofit organizations (NPOs), is needed and has come to occupy a major position in the 21st century. Third, the objective is to gain a basic understanding of the management of nonprofit organizations. Through the achievement of the above three learning objectives, students will understand the contours of nonprofit organizations.

今日の世界は市場セクター、政府（行政）セクター、非営利セクターという3つのセクターによって担われているとされる。特に、非営利セクターは、21世紀において市場セクター及び政府セクターの限界を補完又は克服して社会の運営を万全なものにするセクターとして期待されている。本授業は、非営利組織と企業（営利組織）の違い、非営利活動と営利活動に違い、政府と非営利組織の違いを理解すること、すなわち3つのセクターそれぞれの機能・役割を理解することを第1の目標とする。第2に、なぜ21世紀において非営利組織（NPO）を担い手とする非営利セクターが必要とされ、大きな位置を占めるようになったか、その歴史的、社会的背景を理解することを目的とする。第3に、非営利組織のマネジメントについての基礎的な理解を目的とする。以上3つの学びの目標の達成を通じて非営利組織の輪郭を理解する。

In this class, students will learn theories and techniques related to the management of nonprofit organizations, which are one of the main entities for regional cooperation in solving regional issues today. In particular, focusing on marketing in non-profit organizations, the course will help students understand the basic concepts of marketing and its significance for non-profit organization management, as well as marketing procedures and their implications for non-profit organization management by introducing specific case studies, focusing on NPOs in Kochi Prefecture.

この授業では、今日、地域課題を解決する地域協働主体の一つである非営利組織のマネジメントに関する理論及び技法を学ぶ。特に、非営利組織におけるマーケティングに焦点を当てて、その基礎概念を理解するとともに、高知県内のNPOを中心に具体的事例を紹介することでマーケティングの手順と非営利組織経営にとっての意味を理解する。

The course will introduce discussions in economics, political science, business administration, and sociology on the basic nature of nonprofit organizations and their social functions, which are attracting attention as entities for solving regional problems, and consider the commercial material of the issues. In addition, we will learn about the significance and ideal of collaboration between nonprofit organizations and government and between nonprofit organizations and businesses, using case studies in Kochi Prefecture as examples. In particular, in the study of collaboration, students will practice planning collaboration between nonprofit organizations and government and between nonprofit organizations and businesses through group work using the case method.

地域課題解決の主体として注目される非営利組織に関して組織としての基本的性質及びその社会的機能に関る経済学の議論，政治学の議論，経営学の議論，社会学の議論を紹介して論点の商材を考える。また，非営利組織と行政の協働及び非営利組織と企業の協働についてその意義とあり方を高知県内の事例を題材に学習す る。特に，協働に関する学習においては，ケースメソッドを用いたグループワークによって非営利組織と行政の協働企画や非営利組織と企業の協働企画を立案する訓練も行う。
