Welcome!
Since its founding in 1994, the Leadership Development Program has been shaped by the Center's faculty and students, our Leadership Council of corporate executives, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from the New York/New Jersey metropolitan areaa.
The purpose of the Center is to develop in its students a core set of competencies that will enhance students' existing talents to lead organizations. These essential skills include proficiency in strategic thinking, critical analysis, logical reasoning, and oral and written communication. In addition, the development of the leadership potential of participating students is emphasized.
Practical business experience is an integral part of The Leadership Development Program. During their Junior year, Leadership students are paired with mentors from our Leadership Council and work with these corporate executives on a project related to the executive's company or organization. Through a joint program initiative with The Career Center, the Program offers several workshops and events, as well as assistance with securing summer internships. In addition, guest lecturers are invited each Fall and Spring semester to address the Leadership students.
