Plus System Decommissioned

The University achieved another major milestone in its Banner Project today with the formal decommissioning of the University's old Plus administrative system.

Seton Hall University launched the Banner Project in July 2005. Now three years later we are fully on the new Banner system. The licenses for the old Plus system expired at the end of day yesterday, June 30, 2008.

Over the past two months, team leaders from Enrollment Services, HR/Payroll, IT, and Finance made a last push to move all critical data from the Plus system in to Banner. All Plus data was moved in to the Banner Operational Data Store (ODS) for archival purposes, and over the next year UITS and the team leaders from Acadmic Affairs, Enrollment Services, HR/Payroll, and Finance will build appropriate views to this data so that any reports requiring access to this archival data can be run.

In the meantime, UITS has put in place a process for granting limited, temporary access to the Plus system in case there is a critical need to access that system. To request emergency access to the Plus system, please contact the appropriate functional data steward (for example, Warren Lord in the case of Student data) to make the necessary arrangements. Emergency requests to access Plus will be granted until the Plus system is physically removed from the data center (removal is currently targeted for the end of the 2008 calendar year).
